  • The Mexican Tourism Secretary visited the Baja California Center, where she found everything ready and prepared to begin the Tianguis Turístico 2025.

As part of the international promotion of Mexico in the United States and within the framework of the 2025 Tianguis Turístico activities, Secretary of Tourism Josefina Rodríguez Zamora led the inauguration of the “Ventana a México” Festival in San Diego.

Accompanied by the Governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico launched the exhibition showcasing the country’s natural, artistic, cultural, artisanal, and gastronomic richness, as well as Mexico’s tourism diversity. This event takes place at Liberty Station on April 26 and 27 and is entirely free to the public.

Rodríguez expressed gratitude for Alicia Kerber-Palma, Consul General of Mexico in San Diego, ’s support and commitment to hosting this tourism showcase. The showcase invites U.S. residents to visit Mexico and encourages fellow Mexicans to reconnect with their roots.

Additionally, Secretary Rodríguez and the organizing subcommittees of the 2025 Tianguis Turístico toured the Baja California Center, confirming all preparations are in place to launch the most significant tourism convention in the Americas.

The Secretary was joined by Sebastián Ramírez Mendoza, Undersecretary of Tourism; Patricia Quiles Martínez, General Director of Tourism Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, Baja California’s Secretary of Tourism; Rocío Adame Muñoz, Mayor of Playas de Rosarito; Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, Mayor of Tijuana; Todd Gloria, Mayor of San Diego; Christopher Teal, U.S. Consul General in Tijuana, among others.

These events represent a series of activations in Baja California, Mexico, and California, USA. They aim to make the 2025 Tianguis Turístico the first edition, inviting Mexican nationals and U.S. tourists to celebrate the largest tourism festival in the Americas.

Rodríguez highlighted the participation of 28 Mexican states, 18 traditional cooks, and 25 artisans, who presented diverse products and ancient crafting techniques. Alongside performances of traditional Mexican dances, attendees will experience Mexico’s extensive cultural heritage.

“Mexico not only exports products but also shares identity, talent, culture, and deep-rooted traditions. Thus, ‘Ventana a México’ is a cultural festival reconnecting with those who crossed geopolitical borders yet never left behind their origins,” Rodríguez concluded.
