AICM: Flights Will Be Halted Due to September 16th

The Mexico City International Airport (AICM) announced that it will suspend takeoff and landing operations on Monday, September 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., to facilitate air-military maneuvers during the commemorative parade for the 214th anniversary of the start of Mexico’s Independence.

For this reason, passengers with flights scheduled that day are advised to check with their airline for updated schedules, as this event will lead to some adjustments.

In a statement, the AICM said the air safety measure is being carried out in accordance with NOTAM A6463/24 (Notice to Airmen), issued by the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) and disseminated by the Mexican Air Navigation Services (SENEAM).

"At AICM and Marina, passenger safety and service quality are our top priorities. This suspension of operations is coordinated between civil and military authorities: AFAC, SENEAM, SEMAR, SEDENA, and AICM," the airport said.

On average, 43 operations are carried out every hour at the capital's airport.

AICM data indicates that July 15 saw the highest number of commercial flights handled, with 886 operations.
