TWO LABORATORIES NEUTRALIZED IN SINALOA, PREVENTING THE DISTRIBUTION OF ALMOST 5 TONS OF METHAMPHETAMINE

As part of efforts to prevent the trafficking and production of synthetic drugs in the country, personnel from the Navy, in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense (Defensa), the Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the National Guard (GN), and the Ministry of Public Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), seized approximately 4,900 kilograms of methamphetamine that will not reach the hands of young people. In addition, they located and neutralized two clandestine laboratories used for the production of drugs in the ejido of Loma y Tecomate, in the municipality of Culiacán, Sinaloa.

This action was carried out when members of the Mexican Navy, while conducting land patrols, located two laboratories where they found approximately 4,900 kilograms of methamphetamine, 3,180 liters of chemicals, six 1,500-liter reactors, four 500-liter reactors, 13 100-liter distillers, a 1,000-liter mixer, and various other materials.
The seized items were turned over to the corresponding Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will compile the corresponding investigative files and conduct the subsequent inquiries.
This seizure represents an economic loss to organized crime of approximately 1.32 billion pesos (US$71.18 million) and prevents thousands of doses of this drug from reaching the streets.

It should be noted that thus far this year, 423.71 tons of chemicals have been seized in various clandestine laboratories by Navy personnel in coordination with the Security Cabinet.
Through such operations, the Ministry of the Navy, in coordination with the institutions of the Security Cabinet, contribute to the joint efforts to combat organized crime and prevent the distribution of drugs by criminal groups, thus contributing to the safety of Mexican families.
